Lord of the Harvest Church

Doctrinal Statement of Beliefs

  1. We believe in the eternality, omnipotence, omniscience, omnipresence, immutability, sovereignty, holiness, and love of the triune God, revealed to us as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. While three persons, God is completely one and is alone to be worshipped, served, and obeyed by all people at all times.
  2. We believe the Bible is the fully inspired and inerrant Word of God. As such it is completely infallible in all it speaks to and should be the rule of faith and practice for all people at all times.
  3. We believe in the literal 6 days creation account recorded in the Book of Genesis, and that God alone is responsible for creating and upholding all that ever has or will exist.
  4. We believe in God the Father, an infinite and personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. He personally and mercifully deals in the affairs of mankind, and saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
  5. We believe in God the Son, who is Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God. We believe He humbled Himself and came to earth to identify with and save mankind from its sin. This was accomplished through His death, burial, and resurrection. While on earth, Jesus conducted a powerful teaching and healing ministry. Following his resurrection, He appeared to and encouraged many of His disciples, ascended into Heaven and now sits at the right hand of God making intercession for His people.
  6. We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ.
  7. We believe in the sinless life of Jesus Christ, thus making possible His substitutionary and atoning death for the sins of mankind.
  8. We believe the shedding of the blood of Christ was a necessary part of His atoning death.
  9. We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, that He rose on the third day just as He said He would. It is His resurrection that proves He was a proper substitute for the sins of mankind.
  10. We believe in God the Holy Spirit, who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin and judgment, and lead men to righteousness and eternal life through Jesus Christ.
  11. We believe the Holy Spirit regenerates, sanctifies, indwells, and empowers all who believe in Jesus Christ, and is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide.
  12. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, and in the proper exercise of spiritual gifts.
  13. We believe man is a sinner by nature and choice, and is thus under the condemnation of God and deserving of God’s eternal judgment.
  14. We believe in the eternal punishment of the wicked (all those whose sin has not been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ) as well as Satan and the demons.
  15. We believe salvation from the penalty and power of sin is provided by God’s grace alone through faith alone in the work of Christ alone. Repentance of sin and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is all that is necessary for salvation. The lives of those whom God has saved will reflect His salvation through their desire to please Him and serve Him.
  16. We believe in the universal and invisible church, which is the living spiritual body of Christ, and is made up of all regenerated persons of all-time.
  17. We believe in the local and visible churches which make up the invisible church, and the autonomy of these churches. If functioning properly, the local Church represents the hope of the world through its doctrine, message, and lifestyle.
  18. We believe Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the Church, which are baptism and communion.
  19. We believe baptism is to be by immersion and only following a profession of faith in Christ.
  20. We believe communion is for believers only and open to all believers.
  21. We believe in the mighty power of prayer to God available to all believers.
  22. We believe the Church on earth has a real and powerful adversary named Satan, whose doom and destruction is sure.
  23. We believe in the personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His Kingdom, in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, eternal blessing of the righteous, and eternal suffering of the wicked.
